Site Preparation

Castles need 50x50+ flat area. Hilltop (natural defense), peninsula (water on 3 sides), plains (easiest). Mark outline with stone bricks. Layout: outer walls (rectangular/octagonal), 4 corner towers, main gate, central keep.

Wall Construction

Materials: stone bricks (body), mossy stone bricks (aged), cracked stone bricks (texture), cobblestone (fill). Height 6-8 blocks, thickness 2+. Battlements: alternate every other block. Wall walkway: 1-wide top, battlements outside, iron bars inside. Mix materials for natural aging.

Warning: The soul of medieval castles is weathering. Mix stone+mossy+cracked bricks 1:1:1 for far better results than pure stone.

Towers & Gatehouse

Towers: 5-7 block diameter circular/square at corners, 2-3 blocks taller than walls top floor = archer position. Gate: 3x3 or 4x4 door, iron bar portcullis, carved stone doorframe, guard towers both sides. Dry moat: 3 deep, cactus/spikes at bottom.

Keep & Interior

Keep: 15x15 base, 3-4 floors. Ground: great hall (long table+fireplace), kitchen. Second: lord's bedroom+enchanting. Third: library (bookshelves+desk). Basement: dungeon (iron doors+bars), storage. Roof: dark oak triangular peak.
