More Than Just Dragons
Ice and Fire is the most beloved 'fantasy creature' mod: four tameable dragon types (fire/ice/lightning/amphithere-twin), dragon roost structures, town-raid events, plus a full mythic ecosystem — sea serpents, gargoyles, elves, centaurs. Dragons tier 1-5; a tier-5 fire dragon burns whole forests — plan your escape route before engaging.
Fighting Wild Dragons
Wild dragons rest in roosts (caves or surface nests). Combat rules: ① kiting ranged is the only correct answer — melee bites deal 20+ damage, two hits shred iron armor; ② bring a bow, 3 stacks of arrows, golden apples; ③ fire breath has a ~2s head-rear tell — strafe to dodge; ④ ice breath slows you: never trade hits up close; ⑤ collect dragon blood before skinning — blood bottles feed late-game gear crafting. Practice on tier 1-2 hatchlings first.
Taming & Hatching: Two Routes
Route one, hatch: raid a roost for eggs — fire dragon eggs incubate in fire, ice eggs underwater, lightning eggs on open ground during storms. Feed hatchlings (raw meat + bone meal) and they're loyal for life. Route two, submit: beat a wild dragon below ~20% HP until it 'begs' (kneeling, heart particles), then right-click with dragon food — bare hands. Hatched dragons have a higher level cap — the proper dragon-knight path.
Dragon Knight Progression
After taming, equip a Dragon Saddle + Dragon Armor (dragon bone + matching scales for damage reduction). Flight: space up / shift down / arrows to steer, sprint drains stamina. Progression: ① dragon-vs-dragon sparring for 'dragon rage' XP; ② build a dragon stable (20x20 enclosure + water pool; fire-proof flooring for fire dragons); ③ a tier-5 dragon in full armor is the mod's ultimate unit — it can duel a Warden. Hidden achievement 'Dragon Whisperer': feed one dragon raw fish 100 times.
