What is Pixelmon?
Pixelmon is the largest Minecraft Pokemon mod, bringing the complete Pokemon world into MC. Features 900+ Pokemon, full battle system (IVs/EVs/nature/ability/moves), Poke Ball crafting, Pokemon gyms and NPC trainers. Active since 2013, current support: Minecraft 1.20.1/Forge.
Installation Steps
1. Prepare Forge 1.20.1 client. 2. Download Pixelmon .jar from reforged.gg or CurseForge. 3. Drop into mods folder. 4. Launch game (2-3 min first load). 5. Press P for Pokemon menu. 6. Press O to toggle Pokemon following. Note: Pixelmon needs 4-6GB allocated RAM.
Crafting Poke Balls
Craft at the Poke Ball crafting table. Recipe: iron blocks (4 corners) + buttons (sides) + Poke Ball lid (cooked apricorn + hammer). Plant apricorn trees, use bone meal for fast growth. Basic Poke Ball: lid + iron base + button. Different colored apricorns make different ball types.
Battle System Basics
Right-click Pokemon -> start battle. Turn-based with four actions: Move, Item, Pokemon, Run. Pokemon have six stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp.Atk, Sp.Def, Speed. Type matchups follow official Pokemon rules. Defeat wild Pokemon for EXP to level up and evolve.
