Key Fixes
1.22.1 fixes three critical issues: 1) Cherry groves generating incompletely in certain seeds. 2) Bamboo rafts disappearing after cross-dimension teleport. 3) Archaeology brushes failing intermittently on multiplayer servers. Plus 12 minor bug fixes including villager trading UI lag and Elytra animation glitches.
Update Guidance
Java players should update immediately (launcher auto-prompts). Bedrock 1.22.1 rolls out next week. Existing 1.22 worlds are fully compatible — the update won't corrupt saves. Cherry grove fixes only apply to newly generated chunks.
Known Remaining Issues
Mojang has confirmed two issues remain in 1.22.1: frame drops on older GPUs in dense cherry groves, and occasional server-side brush lag under heavy use. Both are targeted for 1.22.2 and do not affect normal play. If you notice stuttering, disabling particles in video settings helps.
