Project Scale
Block Artisans, a 120-member Chinese MC build team, spent 3 years (2023-2026) creating a 1:1 accurate Forbidden City. Covers ~720,000 sqm in-game, using 80+ million blocks. Includes 9,999 rooms, city walls, all palaces and courtyards arranged per actual layout.
Technical Challenges
The main challenge: recreating Chinese architecture's flying eaves and dougong brackets in MC. The team developed a custom mod (Block Artisans Mod) for precise curves and details. Built per ancient architectural specifications — column spacing, roof angles, painted patterns all proportionally scaled.
