Project Launch

Following the 1:1 Great Wall recreation, the Block Artisans team announced a Suzhou garden series, starting with the Humble Administrator's Garden. They plan six months for the full garden — including the Far Fragrance Hall, Mountain-View Tower, and Small Flying Rainbow bridge, plus waterways, rockeries, and plantings. The team says the garden's 'changing views with each step' philosophy is the most challenging aspect in MC building.

Technical Challenges

Unlike the grand regularity of the Great Wall and Forbidden City, Suzhou gardens pursue refined layers within a confined space. Challenges include: 1) Taihu rockery stones with their porous, weathered shapes — the team is developing a 'rockery generator' to simulate natural erosion. 2) Winding waterways and reflection effects. 3) Borrowed and framed view composition. The team will use RTX ray tracing for the first time to render the garden's light and shadow.

Watch & Participate

Construction will stream live on the Bilibili 'Block Artisans' channel, with a documentary 'Rhythm of the Garden' in production. The team is opening 'community co-building' for the first time — players can sign up for modular subtasks like planting or tiling. Previous Forbidden City and Great Wall saves surpassed 5 million downloads; the Suzhou series is expected to be another flagship.
