What's New in 25w35a
Following last week's first snapshot, 25w35a completes the bamboo building set: bamboo stairs, bamboo fences, bamboo signs, and bamboo doors. Bamboo now matches oak and spruce with a full building block matrix. It also adds a new 'Bamboo Mosaic' decorative block (similar to 1.19's mangrove mosaic), with fine textures ideal for East Asian-style builds.
Enchanted Book Trades Implemented
The villager trade rework previewed last week is now live: librarian enchanted book trades are distributed by biome — swamp villagers sell Mending, jungle villagers sell Efficiency, plains villagers sell Protection, etc. Players must find villagers in specific biomes, officially ending the 'endlessly refresh one trading hall' strategy.
How to Try
Select 'Latest Snapshot' in the launcher to create a 25w35a world; experimental gameplay is on by default. Bamboo blocks and villager trade changes both require experimental gameplay. Snapshots are for testing — the official release is expected mid-September, merging the 1.22.1 fixes.
