Support Details

OptiFine HD U stable build now fully supports Minecraft 1.22/1.22.1. This was OptiFine's slowest adaptation in history (about a month delay), due to major rendering engine changes in 1.22. The new version supports full shader loading, dynamic lights, HD textures, and FPS optimization, and has passed 1.22.1 compatibility tests.

Performance Benchmarks

Tested on a low-end PC (GTX 1050): default settings gained ~40% FPS (45fps to 63fps), and with Complementary Shaders enabled it stayed above 30fps. OptiFine's 'Smart Render' option adds another 10-15%. FPS gains are most noticeable in cherry grove areas compared to vanilla 1.22.

Install & Alternatives

Download the matching jar from optifine.net and double-click to auto-install to the launcher (install 1.22 first). For top-tier shaders, pair it with Iris Shaders. Note: OptiFine has compatibility issues with some tech mods (e.g. Create 1.6) — modded players should use Sodium + Lithium instead.
