World Record Details
Renowned speedrunner DreamX (new alias) set a new Random Seed Glitchless WR at 7m12s in June 2026, breaking the 8-month-old 7m43s record. The run has been verified by speedrun.com moderators.
Keys to the Record
DreamX shared his strategy: lucky spawn (desert village + blacksmith + lava pool), perfect use of 1.22's new villager trading mechanics, efficient Nether navigation (bastion -> piglin trade -> blaze spawner). Gold blocks in new archaeology sites were a key early resource source.
Community Reaction
The speedrunning community erupted. Top runners Illumina and Fruitberries congratulated and announced they'll challenge the new record. Analysts believe 1.22's new content (especially archaeology) opens new strategies and optimization space for speedruns. Two months later, this record was broken by CakeFrog at 6m58s (see the latest report).
