Core material: Nether Star, 100% Wither drop. Summon: soul sand/soil T-shape, 3 wither skulls on top. Craft: Nether Star + 3 obsidian + 5 glass = 1 Beacon.

Sacrifice one iron ingot / gold / emerald / diamond to activate. Range is measured horizontally from the base. A beacon only works on a solid pyramid of mineral blocks: 9 blocks for one tier, 34 for two, 83 for three, and 164 for the full four tiers that unlocks two simultaneous effects and a 50-block range. The beam needs a clear line to the sky, and each activation costs one ingot, gem or diamond.

Pyramid Base

Mineral block pyramid. Min 1 tier (3x3, 9 blocks). Max 4 tiers (9x9->7x7->5x5->3x3, 164 blocks). More tiers = larger range (20->50 block radius) + more effects.

Tip: Most economical: iron blocks. Mass-produce with iron farm. 164 iron blocks ≈ 1476 ingots. Gold/diamond = pure vanity.

Beacon Effects

Speed I/II (+20/40%), Haste I/II (+20/40% mining — god mode!), Resistance I/II (20/40% DR), Jump Boost I/II, Strength I/II (+3/6 hearts), Regeneration (4-tier only, 1 heart/2.5s). Haste II + Efficiency V = instant stone breaking!

Beam Colors

Place stained glass above beacon to color the beam. Stack colors to blend. Purely cosmetic. Colored beacon = one of MC's most iconic achievements.
