Bee Basics

Bees spawn near flowers and are neutral — don't attack unless provoked (stinging kills them). Bees collect nectar (flying between flowers and hives), hives produce honey when full. Bees are among the few farmable insects, producing honey and honey bottles.

Hive Acquisition & Harvesting

Getting hives: 1) Natural beehives — on oak/birch trees (need flowers nearby). 2) Crafted bee nests — 6 planks + 3 honeycomb. Harvesting: when hive is full (honey overflowing), right-click with glass bottle for honey bottle, or shear for honeycomb (used to craft nests). Harvesting angers bees — place a campfire below to pacify them.

Tip: Campfire is key! Place one below the hive (smoke calms bees) for safe honey and honeycomb harvesting without stings.

Honey Uses

Honey bottle uses: 1) Drink — restores 6 hunger (3 bars), clears poison. 2) Craft sugar (1 bottle = 3 sugar). 3) Craft honey block (4 bottles). Honey block effects: slows mobs (traps), sticks players (like slime), conducts redstone. Honeycomb uses: craft bee nests, honeycomb blocks (decor), candles (honeycomb + string).
