Fox Basics

Foxes spawn in taiga, snowy taiga, and snowy plains biomes. Two variants: red fox (taiga) and snow fox (snowy). Nocturnal — sleep during the day (head buried), active at night. Wild foxes flee from players but never attack. Attracted by sweet berries.

How to Tame Foxes

Foxes can't be tamed directly like wolves/cats — you need 'breed taming': 1) Find two wild foxes. 2) Feed both sweet berries or glow berries (produces a baby). 3) The baby trusts the player automatically. 4) Leash the baby home. Tamed foxes follow you but don't attack like wolves.

Tip: Tamed foxes pick up dropped items (including enchanted swords!) and fight mobs that attack you. Give it a Sharpness V sword — a mini warrior.

Unique Behaviors

Notable fox behaviors: 1) Hunting — pounces on chickens, rabbits (snow foxes pounce rabbits). 2) Item carrying — picks up nearby drops. 3) Sleeping — buries head in ground during day, a useful locating signal. 4) Sweet berry immunity — not hurt by berry bushes, moves freely through them. 5) Trusted foxes follow the player.
