Trading Hall Planning
Goal: gather all profession villagers in one space for fast trading. Principles: 1) One villager per 1-block stall (standing at their workstation). 2) Profession determined by workstation (lectern=librarian, composter=farmer). 3) Avoid interference (≥1 block apart). Recommended: single row or double-aisle layout, 10-15 stalls per row.
Essential Professions
Priority professions (by value): 1) Librarian (lectern) — enchanted books, most core. 2) Farmer (composter) — emerald source (wheat for emeralds). 3) Fletcher (fletching table) — sticks for emeralds (infinite emerald farm). 4) Toolsmith/Weaponsmith/Armorer — gear trades. 5) Cleric (brewing stand) — redstone/lapis for emeralds. At least 2 villagers per profession.
Layout Design
Recommended double-aisle: 1-block center aisle, stalls on both sides (1 villager + 1 workstation + 1 trade panel per stall). 2-block stall height, trapdoors to prevent escape. Lights on top to prevent mobs. Advanced: minecart system to auto-transport villagers from breeder to stalls — a fully automated trading hall.
A trading hall is just a row of one-block stalls, each holding one villager and exactly one work station, with a glass front so you can trade without letting them out. Bring villagers in on a rail line behind the stalls, let each one claim its station, then make a single trade to lock the offers permanently. Light and seal everything: a single zombie that reaches the hall can kill every villager you spent hours collecting.
