Content Parity with Java

The Bedrock 1.22.2 Preview is live with full parity to Java RC1: the bamboo building set, biome-based villager enchantment trades, and cherry petal performance optimizations are all included, launching the same week as Java (week of September 16). This is the first 1.22-series update with 'zero feature gap' between editions — Bedrock's biome trades previously lagged a full snapshot cycle behind.

Bedrock-Specific Changes

Beyond parity, Bedrock gets three exclusive tweaks: 1) reworked touch-UI inventory drag feel; 2) a bamboo texture rendering fix in split-screen; 3) Marketplace filtering by 1.22.2 blocks — creators can now theme packs around bamboo mosaic. Realms servers auto-upgrade within 48 hours of launch; no action needed.

Cross-Play Migration Checklist

Three things before launch: 1) Realms players — download a local backup of your world in case auto-upgrading breaks add-ons; 2) Bedrock add-on users — check whether your packs declare 1.22.2 compatibility, since the biome-trade change upends the economy of 'infinite enchanted book' marketplace maps; 3) dual-edition players — Java test worlds don't convert to Bedrock directly; validate new mechanics in each edition separately.

Warning: World conversion is still one-way (Java→Bedrock). Always keep two backups before converting.
