Revenge Complete
The 6m50s barrier has fallen. In the early hours of September 1, CakeFrog broke Illumina's 6m52s — the very record he lost on finale night — with a 6m49s run during a livestream. 'The night Illumina took it, I knew 6:50 wouldn't hold long,' CakeFrog said afterward. It's his fourth WR reign.
Run Breakdown
The run was decided in the Nether: spawn near a fortress-bastion cluster, an aggressive route skipping the smithy straight to the Nether, bed-bombing the dragon to skip crystals entirely, and a 23-second dragon fight. Three decisive calls (skip trading, bed bomb, gateway sprint) saved ~6 seconds combined — exactly the margin that pulled 6m52 under 6m50.
Next: 6m45s?
The random-seed record has changed hands four times in 2026, now updating within days. Community consensus puts 6m45s at the technical ceiling of the current version — requiring triple luck on spawn, structure distance, and piglin barters. Illumina has announced a return to livestream runs this week: 'September's record war is just beginning.'
