Site Selection
A good cliff is half the battle. Ideal: vertical drop ≥20 blocks, summit ≥10×10, east/south facing (morning sun), big water below (catches falls + scenery). Biomes change the mood a lot — pick by vibe:
| Biome | Trait | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Mountains / Snowy Slopes | Tall cliffs + snow | Classic drama |
| Badlands (Mesa) | Red cliffs, gorgeous with modern | Strong color contrast |
| Old Growth Taiga | Dense spruce + snowy peaks | Quiet nature |
Cantilever Safety
To make a balcony/platform 'hang' off the cliff, the support is the visual soul. Two tricks: ① inverted quartz stairs slanting outward from the cliff face below the platform, faking a triangular brace; ② iron bars / diorite walls as 'cable columns' propping it from below. The cross-section draws both — note they only LOOK like support; in MC blocks don't need real load-bearing, the point is to read as safe.
Glass Wall Design
Make the entire cliff-facing wall glass panes! No solid wall, sunrise from bed. Key: ① black/gray stained glass (clearer than plain); ② dark oak floor (warm vs cold glass + view); ③ flower pots+leaves as a natural green frame outside; ④ end rods/sea lanterns shining down from inside the ceiling at night, glass reflecting light beautifully.
