Crafting Recipe

4 iron ingots (top/bottom/left/right) + 1 redstone dust (center) = 1 compass. Always points to world spawn. Use on a lodestone to track its position. Foundation for maps and navigation.

How It Works

A compass always points to world spawn (or your last-used bed after sleeping). When lost or exploring far from home, following it leads you back — the most reliable backup navigation.

Advanced Uses

Compasses spin uselessly in the Nether and End. Combine one compass with 8 paper to craft a map that records explored terrain, and use a cartography table to copy maps for sharing.
