Using Ice Terrain

Packed ice in Ice Spikes is frictionless and won't melt in lava — a natural high-speed highway. Fill the gaps between pillars with packed-ice runways and a boat will skim the ground. Snow blocks carve into any shape; paired with pillars they're the perfect base for an 'ice castle'.

Warning: Silk Touch is required to drop packed ice intact; bare hands only yield normal ice. A must-have pick for ice builders.

Photography & Shader Tips

Best shots are at sunrise/sunset when sunlight rakes through the pillars with a blue refraction. Use BSL or Complementary shaders with volumetric clouds + reflections. Compose from a snow-village rooftop backlit against the pillars, or dive into the spikes for a blue-light corridor.

Warning: Ice Spikes has no trees or passive mobs — pack food and wood in advance so you don't starve in the scenery.
