3 iron down each side column + stick / redstone torch / stick down the center = 6 activator rails.

How It Works

When powered, carts crossing it are activated: TNT minecarts ignite into countdown, hopper minecarts toggle suction on/off, command-block minecarts execute, and riders are ejected from their cart. Unpowered, carts pass through untouched.

Practical Uses

Bomb trains (TNT carts drop payload on a powered activator rail), on/off switches for hopper collection lines, and auto-dismount at terminals. Contrast with detector rails: detectors read a cart, activators change it.
