Fishing Rod

Crafting Recipe

3 sticks along the diagonal + 2 string filling the right column = 1 fishing rod. String drops from spiders or cave webs.

Fishing Mechanics

Cast, wait for the bobber to dip (rain shortens waits ~20%), then right-click at the exact dip. Loot pools: fish 85% / treasure 10% (enchanted books, saddles, name tags, lily pads) / junk 5%.

Enchants & Advanced

Standard kit: Luck of the Sea, Lure, Unbreaking — with Mending for maintenance-free angling. AFK fishing ponds are the budget route to enchanted books. Left-click also hooks and pulls entities — a great dismount/escape tool.
