Sticky Piston

Crafting Recipe

1 piston (bottom) + 1 slimeball (above) = 1 sticky piston. Difference from regular piston: pulls the front block back when retracting. Slimeballs drop from slimes in swamps or underground caves.

Difference from Pistons

A sticky piston adds a slime ball, letting it pull the block back when retracting. It is required for almost every two-way mechanism such as retractable doors and self-resetting devices.

Farming & Tips

Slime balls come from slimes (swamps at night or slime chunks) or by smelting magma cream from magma cubes. Sticky pistons cannot pull containers, and a block that is obstructed stays behind.
