1 book top-center, 2 diamonds flanking 1 obsidian mid-center, 3 obsidian along the bottom = 1 enchanting table. Needs a diamond pickaxe for the obsidian — a mid-game milestone.

Shelf Placement

Enchant level depends on nearby bookshelves: 15 shelves (same height or one above, 1 air gap from the table) unlock the full level-30 option. Classic layout: one air gap on all four sides, shelves ringing the table plus the corners.

Pro Tips

The three options preview one enchanted result each; low-cost enchants on junk items shift later options. Each enchant consumes 1–3 lapis lazuli. Merge gear or apply enchanted books precisely with an anvil.
