Crafting Recipe

3 glass on top, 3 nether quartz in the middle, 3 wooden slabs (any) on the bottom = 1 daylight detector.

Two Modes

Default day mode: output follows the sun — 15 at noon, 0 at night. Right-click flips to inverted night mode: 15 at night, 0 by day, no inverter needed.

Practical Uses

Night mode straight into redstone lamps = maintenance-free streetlights; day mode into a dispenser or door for sunrise triggers; repeater thresholds catch dusk-only events. Keep the sky unobstructed above it — roofs silence the sensor.
